Surya as an actor

Actor Saravanan “Surya” Sivakumar (Tamil: சரவணன் “சூர்யா” சிவகுமார்) was born on July 23, 1975 to famous tamil actor Sivakumar. He is the eldest of three children, his younger brother the actor Karthik Sivakumar and a younger sister named Brindha Sivakumar.

Surya studied at St. Bede’s School in Chennai and graduated from Loyola College with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and worked for a few years in the garment industry, before foraying into the film industry. Actor Surya and Actor  Vijay are classmates in college.

Actor started his film carrier in Nerrukku Ner (1997) with Actor Vijay. Later he starred in Friends and Nandha, for which he received a Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor.  Nandha movie turned out be a milestone movie in his carrier since it brought out Surya’s acting talents. Surya’s next venture was with Vikraman in the movie Unnai Ninaithu which was followed by Mounam Pesiyadhe.

Kaaka Kaaka, a movie about the life of a police officer was the turning point of his carrier. The movie become a big Box Office hit and in that movie he paired up with Jyothika. Pithamagan, in which Surya was played a happy-go-lucky village guy in a comedic role. In the movie Perazhagan, Surya acted in two roles, one as a boxer and the other as a handicapped but a confident phone booth keeper for which he received a Filmfare Award for Best Actor. His role in Aayitha Ezhuthu was George Reddy, a student leader in Hyderabad during 80′s.

In 2005, Surya appeared in Aaru and Ghajini and set up a production company called Studio Green which distributed the movie in the Chennai district. Surya played a short term memory loss patient. Surya’s 2006 release was Sillunu Oru Kaadhal and he acted with his real-life partner Jyothika in the film. In 2007, Surya’s solitary release was Vel. He later appered in Vaaranam Aayiram, another venture with Gautham Menon, released on November 14, 2008, which too went to became an big Box Office Hit

Surya’s latest movie is Ayan directed by K. V. Anand, and it was released on April 3rd and the movie went on to become one of the biggest hits Kollywood movies of 2009. Following Ayan, Surya is doing Aadhavan with directer K. S. Ravikumar,  and followed by Singam with director Hari. Surya will also be acting in a film titled Mugamoodi, which is expected to be a superhero film.

Actor Surya fell in love with actress Jyothika and they got married on September 11, 2006. In 2007, the couple had a cute daughter named Diya.

Prithviraj as an actor

Prithviraj, younger son of the famous Malayalam actor the late Sukumaran and actress Mallika, is the rising star  of  Malayalam cinema after Mammootty and Mohanlal. Prithvi did his schooling from the Sainik School and the Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram. He was doing his Bachelor Degree in ComputerEngineering at the University of Tasmania, Australia when he came into the film world. During one of his vacation trips to Kerala, director Fazil introduced him to screen playwright Renjith who was searching for a new face in his first directorial venture. Ranjith impressed by him offered the lead role in his film 'Nandanam' (2002). So he discontinued his studies and concentrated on acting. Quite early in his career Prithviraj was fortunate to act in films directed by leading directors in the Malayalam film industry such as Lohitadas, Vinayan, Kamal and Bhadran.

Prithviraj managed to win the hearts of the Malayalam film audience through his first film itself, especially that of female viewers. He had a definite edge over other younger heroes with his good looks- he was tall, had a good moustache and acting talent - he could do both action and romantic roles with panache.

After the fantastic performance in 'Nandanam' he got  several  offers. His list oearlyf sterling performances include films like 'Stop Violence' (2002), 'Vellithira'  (2002), 'Meerayude Dukham Muthuvinte Swapnam'(2003), 'Swapnakoodu' (2003), 'Vellinakshatram' (2004), 'Akale'(2004), 'Daivanamathil'(2005), 'Ananathabhadhram'(2005) etc. In 2006, Lal Jose's 'Classmates' was released and it turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters in Malayalam cinema. After pulling off the role of a corrupt police officer quite well in Vargam (2006), Prithviraj acted in another film 'Vaasthavam' with the same director, M. Padmakumar and again it was a hard hitting drama and Prithviraj got noticed for his intense acting. As Balachandran Adiga in Vaasthavam, Prithvi once again proved that he is here to stay.

He made his Tamil debut in cinematographer K V Anand's film 'Kana Kandein' (2005) in which he did a negative role. After 'Kana Kandein' Prithviraj has his share of fans in Tamil Nadu too. His second Tamil film 'Parijatham' directed by veteran Bhagyaraj, gave Prithvi the break he needed. In the wake of the success of Parijatham, Prithvi has become one of the most sought-after heroes in Tamil cinema. Another noted Tamil film was 'Mozhi', produced by Prekash Raj, in which he was paired with leading heroine, Jyothika.

He is the youngest actor to receive the Kerala State Award for the Best Actor. Among the current crop of new faces in Malayalam cinema, Prithviraj is definitely the most bankable star.

Rajanikanth as an Actor

                                    

Shivaji Rao Gaekwad (Rajnikanth) was born on December 12, 1949 in Karnataka. He was a bus conductor during which time he reportedly caught the fancy of the bus travelers with his mannerisms and style of issuing tickets and blowing the whistle and so on. Looking to become an actor, he moved to Chennai and joined the film institute. It was here that he caught the eye of K. Balachander, a director known for introducing talented, new faces into the tamil film industry.

Balachander gave him a small role - as the no-good husband of Srividya - in Aboorva Raagangal and the rest, as they say, is history. Rajnikanth soon graduated to playing villains and his style, swagger and casually unique brand of villainy vowed the movie-going public. Be it the sadistic husband of Sujatha in Avargal or the wolf in sheep's clothing in Moondru Mudichu or the lust-filled village rowdy in Bharathiraja's 16 Vayadhinile, Rajnikanth was the villain the people loved to hate.

From here, it was a small step for Rajni, playing the anti-hero and finally, the hero in Bhairavi. Rajnikanth firmly captured the vacant, action-hero slot in tamil movies with a series of movies where he routinely bashed up the bad guys who had done him injustice in one way or the other. Once in a while he did movies like Aarulirundhu Arubadhu Varai or Johny which gave us glimpses of his acting potential. But action was what the fans expected from a Rajni movie and action was what he gave them. He has been superstar for the past 25 years.

Mohanlal as an actor

Mammootty as An Actor

                                         He was born into a middle-middle class family. Without any history of acting, atleast to my knowledge. Some or other how I developed a deep passion for acting .The force behind it is yet unknown. It was not just a whim, but a burning desire from deep within, to express hiself. Even I was not aware of the potential that I had within me, when he started off. I never thought he would reach where he is today, way back then.

Society is of prime importance to me. And He truly believe an actor can bring about some positive changes in the society. He rate himselfself , a socially responsible person. One of the few ,Probably. The attitude , the lifestyle, everything could be changed for better.

                    He is not sure , how many miles He would have travelled within India and across the world. I call it endless travelling. I am not sure how many discussions he would have involved in. he call it endless discussions. From one location to another, one function to another, film related, personal , social. Meeting different personalities from different walks of life. The life has been so challenging and endearing as well.

 

He is a go-getter. And there is nothing wrong in it. His intentions have been good always. Since He was also a human being like any one of you, He also made mistakes in his life. Those are reflected in my movies too. But it should not be taken as a ground to despise me. He was a well wisher of all of you. I desrve your respect and concerns.A loving family to back me up, throughout his struggles has been a blessing indeed.Though he do not underestimate the importance of all the great personalities who have helped me, associated with me, let me call M T Vasudevan Nair  and K G George my mentors. While MT discovered me , KG brought me up. He was deeply indebted to both of them.

He still have to go , a long way. I have not made my strong footings in other parts of the world. His dreams are high. Passions deep. A disciplined lifestyle, positive outlook, compassion towards others should drive me to reach my dreams.
